Teaching Pedagogy
at UIBS

UIBS promotes its services as a collaborative environment for learning facilitation and is dedicated to constant enhancements in pedagogy. UIBS aims
to integrate a combination of digital and real-time practices into its curriculum
to improve student involvement and competencies.

1. Research-Oriented and Case Study-Based Learning
All faculty members are mandated to integrate a minimum of five case studies per module,
including live cases, IIMS, Harvard Business School cases, and ICFAI-IBS cases. This
approach fosters critical thinking and application-based learning. Last semester, students
published research papers on various contemporary topics, showcasing our emphasis on
academic research.

2. Pre-Class Article Readings
To enhance classroom engagement, students receive relevant articles a day before each
session. This flipped classroom approach encourages active participation and informed
discussions during lectures.

3. Personal Branding and Career Development Workshops
We conduct career development workshops regularly. Recently, a 'Career Connect' session was held to equip students with essential personal branding and professional growth strategies.

4. Leadership Development Programs
C-suite executives and industry leaders are invited for guest sessions, providing students with insights into strategic decision-making and leadership challenges.

5. Social Impact and Sustainability Focus
Our students actively participate in social initiatives. Recently, students collaborated with

Yi (Young Indians) and learned hands-on marketing strategies while making a social impact.

6. Role Play & Management Games
Interactive pedagogy such as role plays and management games are incorporated into the
curriculum to enhance experiential learning and decision-making skills.

7. Short-Term Projects
Each subject includes a mini-project component, evaluated for 10 marks. Students submit
these at the end of the semester, ensuring continuous learning and application.

8. Entrepreneurship Forums
We nurture entrepreneurial mindsets through initiatives like the Startup Bootcamp conducted last semester. These platforms help students develop and pitch business ideas.

9. Brainstorming & Ideation Sessions
As part of the bootcamp and ongoing initiatives, students participate in ideation sessions.
Plans are underway to launch an on-campus Incubation Centre to support student startups.

10. Business Club Activities
Dedicated time slots are allocated within the timetable for business club activities, fostering
teamwork, creativity, and peer learning.

11. Industry Interface
Industrial visits are organized to provide students with hands-on experience and real-world
exposure to business operations and best practices.

12. Experiential Learning Programs
A notable initiative involved students executing street marketing campaigns in Bangalore,
where they applied all 7Ps of marketing and generated revenue through innovative sales
strategies.

13. Flipped Classroom Approach
We regularly use flipped classroom techniques such as online quizzes, role plays, and group activities to reinforce concepts and boost student engagement.

14. Simulations and Gaming which will be implemented this semester

15. Executive Coaching & Mentorship
From the upcoming semester, students will receive corporate mentoring from industry
professionals across various sectors to guide their career paths.

16. Student Exchange Programs
We are in the process of launching international student exchange programs to offer global
exposure and cross-cultural learning opportunities.

17. Capstone Projects & Consulting Assignments
Starting next semester, students will undertake capstone projects and consulting assignments, often aligned with their internship experiences, to solve real-world business problems.

18. Continuous Assessment with OBE and Bloom’s Taxonomy

Our continuous assessment system is aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy and Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Regular assignments, internal evaluations, and exam paper design reflect our commitment to measurable learning outcomes and academic rigor.

Every module at UIBS integrates a minimum of five real-world case studies—including Harvard and ICFAI cases—ensuring students engage deeply with practical scenarios. This hands-on approach, paired with opportunities for academic research and publication, develops critical thinking and real-world application skills from day one.
